Curious if there is any interest in a nyzul/assault group. Help people clear nyzul floors and do various assaults as people need.
Ive cleared up to floor 20 and am a first lieutenant.

Cool, I'm superior private but have only done 2 different assaults to get there (Golden Salvage spamming ftw). I'm always interested in more assaults and nyzul would be cool too.
I tried Nyzul one time with a couple friends just to go in and check it out a bit. There was only 3 of us and we were just screwin' around so we didn't get past even the second floor I don't think heh.

i dont think an all pet run would work. My group is currently on floor 85, i should be 100 after tomorrow. I'm available to help or provide some information if you want.
A couple of the setups we use are:
sam/nin war/nin drg/whm whm (think he subs smn for the autorefresh) blm thf with th4
Now the above party is a typical setup we've used. We mostly only use the THF on boss fights, so we usually have another strong DD instead of him for climbs (SAM or MNK)
Can be done without a BLM but if you get puddings and soulflayers you could be in trouble if no BLM in pt.
We stick together when needed, and split up in groups when we can for things such as kill em all floors. Our split is usually sam, war, whm in one group and DRG,BLM,THF (or other DD in another). The DRG is very effective with /whm because he can use healing breath III.
When we hit a boss fight we throw a monk in in place of one of the DD's. Usually I'm on SAM and switch to MNK for the boss fights and tank as monk. 2 hours our used if necessary, if we are farming gear that day and doing several boss fight we only use the 2 hour if necessary. We have killed many of bosses without using a single 2 hour though. Success takes good communication and one person calling the shots and the rest following orders. Nyzul is a merit party on crack. Time is your issue so not much room for error. USE SKILLCHAINS even if there is not magic burst. the added damage from a LVL 3 skillchain can make or break your run. Like i said i usually go SAM and if we are using 2 SAM setup then the other SAM and I make Darkness since i have Tachi: Rana. If i'm teamed up with the war then we usually do reverb or i make self dark.
Send me a tell if you want pointers or help

I also roll with a static group. For climbing runs we usually go with this setup: sam/nin, blu/nin, drg/whm, whm/blm, blm/rdm, and me the dnc/sam. For HNM floors, the drg subs sam, the whm switches to sam/nin and the blm goes rdm main. We try for a little more power with both sam 2hrs and the rdm for faster healing, debuffs, and dispel.
Versatility and the ability to split up into effective smaller groups are the main things you want in a nyzul group. Sam and dnc can 2 step light or darkness, which is always nice, but it's a lifesaver on flans and leader floors (with blm MBing burst II or freeze II). This also gives us 3 separate stunners, as well as multiple healers. The thing is, you want 2 different party dynamics at the same time. You need to be able to solo/duo/trio efficiently when separated, for the kill everything floors, and you need to have a group that can cooperate well as a whole when you're up against a leader or HNM. Oh yah, another important thing about lineups, EVERYONE needs to be able to sneak and invis themselves.
Besides that, we get everyone on Ventrilo, and have all played together on a regular basis. The most important thing in there is communication and being able to work together with the rest of your group. If you get a specific order lamp floor in a pickup group and can't communicate with them effectively, you're screwed.
So yah, communication and flexibility, that's what you need. Sorry I got a bit long winded there.

I completed floor 100 the other day.
Yes Ventrilo is a good advantage for this.
Also for ordered lamp floors a good system is as follows
If its a 5 lamp floor find your order like this
once you have a person at each lamp make an initial order
i.e. A,B,C,D,E (letters represent a player at a lamp)
If no ones lamp stays on longer than anyone else's then you gotta change up the order. Easiest way is to move everyone up a spot
new order B,C,D,E,A
Just keep sliding people down the order till you get it all right

i have never done Nyzul island assult before, but I'd like to try it if possible, i got PLD and RDM at 75, well RDM is almost there still need few more k exp i think, also haent played rdm for a while so i might need to bruish off some rust before i can actually do Nyzul. but yeah, soon i should be done with dnc (trying to get 37) so i can go back to lvling my BST and poke around with RDM. My PLD should be ok tho, have /nin as well. Also my main playing time is FR~SUN. so MON~THU is not a good time unless the run is start like 5:00 AM EST or something then i can stay until 8 AM. please let me know if there is any spot in your static pt or if you are starting a new one. thank you Sincerely Z~

I've done this up to Floor 10, and I've done a few Floor 20 boss fights. It seems simple at lower levels, but tends to get harder as you progress. Communication is definitely key. Too easy to run out of time if you get a lamp floor. I need pieces from at least 2-3 different HNMs so I'd love to get into a good static for this. I'm in a pseudo-static right now, but they aren't very competent.
