I was bored one night and wanted to see what PUP was all about... I found it to be very powerful at low lvls (mine is lvl 8 after about 1 1/2 hours of work so cant really comment on higher lvls) I wanted to get by as cheaply as possible since this was only a trial run, so I set my PUP up with Volt Gun, Shock Absorber, Auto-Repair Kit, and Mana Tank. Note: I can't take credit for this set up...but I can't find the post that I used either. With these attachments your automaton will have Enthunder (always on), and by using your abilities Stoneskin, Auto Regen, and Auto Refresh. Hope this helps anyone that wants to try it out... I found that I could kill non-stop with this set up, and it didn't really cost me a ton of gil to try it out. One day I will probably go back and lvl PUP some more.

Puppetmaster is extremely powerful at lower levels. Especially when you take a higher lvl pup with the advanced attachments and pit them against lower level mobs. Given the opportunity, I'd invite PUPs to any low level sync party.
Also, the automaton oils don't scale when you level sync down so you can get an amazing regen that will completely heal all of your pets hp at low levels.
Also I'm finding at lvl 68 that the Campaign Battles where you wail on fortifications, the ranged auto is amazingly powerful. You can just tee up, put heatsink on and go tripple fire. I've yet to get less than 1k per fort attack campaign battle.
